Privacy Policy

Short version: your email is used to send you the thing you asked for and occasional updates from Daniel Reeves. It is never sold, rented or traded. You can leave at any time, and you can ask to be deleted.
Who runs this site
danielreevesauthor.com is the author site for Daniel Reeves, a pen name used for self-published books on divorce and recovery. Questions about this policy go to daniel@danielreevesauthor.com.
What we collect
- Email address and first name, only when you type them into a form on this site. The first name is optional.
- Facebook and Instagram messages. If you reply to one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram, Meta shows us your public profile name and the messages you send us. That conversation lives inside Meta's products, under Meta's own privacy policy.
- Basic site analytics. Page views and general traffic data, through Google Tag Manager and Vercel Analytics. This is aggregate traffic information, not a profile of you.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive details about your marriage, your divorce, your health or your children. Please do not send them.
What we use it for
- Sending you the free resource or book you requested.
- Asking, once or twice, whether you would leave an honest review of a book you received for free. Honest means honest. A critical review is welcome. Nothing is conditional on what you write, and you are free to write nothing at all.
- Occasional updates about new books and free resources.
- Understanding which pages people find useful.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or trade your information.
- We never share your email with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never pay for a review, and we never require one in exchange for a book.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of services to run the site and the email list. Each one holds your data only to do its job:
- Kit (kit.com) stores the email list and sends email.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram) handles ads and Messenger conversations.
- Google provides tag management and analytics.
Email consent
The email list is double opt-in. You enter your address, we send a confirmation email, and nothing else is sent until you click it. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing daniel@danielreevesauthor.com.
- Ask to be deleted. Email the same address. We remove you from the list and delete your record.
If you are in the EU, the UK or California, these rights are yours by law, and we apply them to everyone regardless of where you live.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Free review copies
Free PDF copies of our books are for your own reading. Please do not redistribute or resell them. If a book was given to you free and you choose to review it, Amazon asks that you say so in the review.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced to the email list.
